A few minutes ago it was made official Michele Mignani as the new coach of Cesena. He takes over Domenico Toscanothe coach who brought the Romagna to Serie B and who won, again with the Romagna, the Italian Super Cup of Serie C. Toscano signed for Catania in series C.
The choice fell on Mignani both for the sporting merits of the latter and for the about-face of Roberto D’Aversa. Despite a verbal agreement with Cavalluccio, the former Lecce coach has accepted the proposal to remain coaching in Serie A and will do so withEmpoliwhich became part of the bureaucratic stalemate that prevented Cesena from immediately formalizing D’Aversa’s arrival.
The coach born in Genoa in 1972 signed a annual contract, with option for 2026. The former Palermo coach is the 68th coach in Cesena’s historythe third born in the Ligurian capital after Mario Gianni And Gipo Poggi. His coaching experience began with the Siena national teams in the 2009-2010 season. From 2010 to 2014 he led the Sienese Primavera, before becoming Latina’s technical collaborator in 2014-2015. He began his career as a coach of the first teams in the ranks of Olbia from 2016 to 2017, continuing at Siena from 2017 to 2019 and at Modena from 2021 to 2023. His consecration came with the call from Bari in 2021. He remained with the Galletti for two years, coming close to promotion to Serie A, in the play-off final lost against Cagliari thanks to a goal by Leonardo Pavoletti in the 94th minute. This year it passed to Palermowhere they lost the semifinal of the B play-offs against Venezia.
