Yesterday morning the Municipality of Lucca and Geal Spa participated in the conference “Water, primary resource”, organized by Cgil Lucca and Cgil Massa Carrara at the Scuderie Ducali in Seravezza for a direct discussion on the future of the integrated water system at a territorial level.
The environmental councilor Cristina Consani and the president of Geal Paolo Buchignani first highlighted the important technical, qualitative and environmental results obtained by Geal Spa, in the face of valid economic sustainability, with budgets always in profit and with consumer tariffs lower than those applied by single managers. “In recent years Geal Spa has in fact managed to translate into operations the principles of effectiveness, efficiency and cost-effectiveness underlying Legislative Decree 152/2006, so-called. environment decree, constantly appearing among the top managers at a regional and national level according to the ARERA rankings and being rewarded in the two-year periods 2018-2019 and 2020-2021 with economic awards for a total value of over 4.5 million euros”, is the note of Palazzo Orsetti.
Given that the current management of the integrated water service under concession to Geal SpA. will end on 31 December 2025, councilor Consani finally underlined the municipal administration’s desire to evaluate the autonomous management of the service, after verifying that the requirements are met . Perspectives that will be outlined and defined in the coming months, with the municipal administration having once again reiterated its commitment aimed at protecting human resources and the excellence represented by Geal in this area, the tariffs, the quality-price ratio and the water resource.
