Child drowned in swimming pool, all acquitted even in second degree. The Court of Appeal of Catanzaro confirmed the first degree sentence (acquittal for all) for the defendants in the trial for the death of little Giancarlo Esposito, the 4-year-old boy who stopped living on 2 July 2014 while he was in the municipal swimming pool of Cosenza.

On trial were Carmine Manna (legal representative of the company), and the educators Franca Manna, Luana Coscarello, Martina Gallo and Ilaria Bove who were at work that morning when little Giancarlo entered the Kinder Garden, the Campagnano structure dedicated to the most little ones. It was a sultry Friday at the beginning of July and for the little one it was his first day at the Kinder Garden. After some outdoor activities, the little ones were taken to the swimming pool and after a while Giancarlo was floating in the water lifeless. The first instance trial ended in 2020 with acquittal for all. Today the Court of Appeal acquitted the defendants, accepting the defense arguments of the lawyers Marcello Manna, Sabrina Rondinelli and Giuseppe Manna.
