Viterbo – We receive and publish – San Lazzaro roundabout. I have lived in the Villanova district for several years and, whether for work or daily life reasons, my family and I drive onto Via Cassia coming from Via Villanova.
Before the construction of the roundabout, this maneuver was dangerous due to the intense traffic always present on Via Cassia.
The subsequent construction of the roundabout allowed for smoother traffic flow and above all a notable reduction in accidents.
When the situation seemed to normalize and approximately two years after its creation, it was decided to question its effectiveness with substantial changes to the road system, also making the activity of the numerous shopping centers that had arisen in the meantime in the San Lazzaro area problematic.
I think it would be useful, before making final decisions, to first find a way to make the roundabout more efficient with appropriate modifications and, even more importantly, to hear the opinions of both residents and business owners.
To this end, neighborhood meetings of interested staff could be organised, as was done during the pre-election period on the occasion of the mayor’s election.
