Lazio: urban regeneration, agreement between MIT and Region

Rome, 18 June. (askanews) – “The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Lazio Region signed today at the MIT, in the presence of the deputy prime minister and minister Matteo Salvini and the president Francesco Rocca, a program agreement for the implementation of innovative initiatives for urban regeneration , the recovery and redevelopment of the social housing stock of Rome and the entire region. Almost 54 million have been made available, of which 43.9 from MIT funds and over 10 from the Region, including savings and unused resources in the past. They will be used to finance urban regeneration interventions on public residential buildings, to promote social quality and restore the urban fabric, to extraordinary maintenance of public buildings, as well as to the recovery of public and private real estate assets currently unused or underused. Furthermore, new social housing interventions are planned, through the purchase or construction of new properties, in order to increase the public and social housing supply. The main objective is to support those families who, due to limited economic capacity, cannot afford either a mortgage or rent for a house”. Thus a joint note from the MIT and the Lazio Region.
