Fortunately, only the beginning was difficult, but I will never forget all those times that at the end of the game, in the pouring rain so as not to be heard by the other mothers, you nervously pointed at me with your finger to go and change so as not to catch cold… and I instead I stayed on the field with my teammates to roll on the ground and slide in the mud to celebrate together after the match. You told me that you would no longer accompany me but you never did because unconsciously you too became passionate about this sport..
I always thought I had done you a wrong by choosing and insisting on football… but today I discover that deep down that child who ran alone after a ball had a Supermum behind him who satisfied him and followed him without ever stopping. This season is over too. You’ve seen a lot of it and some of it in recent years. Tryouts, observers, tournaments at the seaside in the mountains… you have always been there, with a cooler bag, a few sandwiches in the bag and a bottle of water always ready for me.
