A multiparametric monitor for monitoring patients’ vital functions was donated to the Geriatrics operating unit of the Perrino hospital by the Rotary Club Brindisi Appia Antica.
The general director of the ASL Maurizio De Nuccio, the health director Vincenzo Gigantelli, the director of the department Carmelo Zuccaro, the doctor Giovanni Argentieri, the former head physician Vito Carrieri and all the healthcare staff of the Geriatrics took part in the delivery ceremony.
Present for Rotary were Daniela Passaro, president of the Appia Antica Club, Franco Facecchia who will take over as president soon, the governor of Rotary district 2120 Vincenzo Sassanelli with assistant Francesca Pennetta.
The monitor was purchased thanks to the fundraising carried out on the occasion of the Christmas band concert held in mid-December in the municipal theater of Mesagne with the moral patronage of the Municipality and the contribution of the Omega Center and AZ Costruzioni.
The technical characteristics of the monitor were illustrated by the clinical engineer of the ASL, Daniele Paladini, it is in fact a latest generation device that allows you to keep various parameters such as cardiac activity, pressure, oxygen saturation, breathing and body temperature under control. It can be connected to additional devices and has an integrated battery that allows use at the bedside or during patient transport. The parameters measured over time can be displayed numerically or graphically, with a medical record that can be interfaced with the hospital one and is also equipped with visual and acoustic alarms to notify healthcare workers of parameter anomalies.
