Ravenna. The Giuseppe Verdi conservatory celebrates the summer solstice by participating in the “Music Festival”

This year the Giuseppe Verdi conservatory celebrates the summer solstice by actively participating in the European event “Music Festival” by promoting a series of concerts with a varied program spread over several meetings in different locations in the heart of Ravenna.

The music festival was born in France in 1982 and since 1995 some public and private organizations have become co-organizers of this European music festival with the aim of involving and mixing different types of music and audiences to play together every 21st June.

Our conservatory has chosen to actively participate in this event which stimulates a better knowledge of the various current artistic realities in its territory, thus creating greater artistic exchange and sharing.

Starting from Thursday 20 June at 6pm at the church of Santa Maria delle Croci, inside the main hall of the artistic high school which from September will become a musical high school; a trombone ensemble “Trombone choir project” from the conservatories of Ravenna, Venice and Trento will perform with free admission.

On Friday 21st at the national museum at 6 pm in the Refectory room there will be an experimental performance that combines live electronics with visual art.

Curated by the composer and performer Niccolò Bassi and the sculptor Lorenzo Scarpellini in collaboration with ABARAVENNA, academy of fine arts; access to the event requires the purchase of an entrance ticket to the museum.

On the same day of the 21st at 6.30 pm at the arts center in Piazza JF Kennedy we will continue with a concert of audiotactile music created by the students of the new pop and improvisation course born this academic year, 2023/2024, a free entry event.

To conclude on Saturday 22 June at 5pm again at the Polo delle Arti there will be a piano concert in memory of the great pianist Maurizio Pollini who passed away last March; the pieces will be performed by the students of the piano class. Free entry event.
