In the early hours of the morning, a Latin in the areas of the Nicolosi and Campo Boario districts, the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Latina is carrying out 11 precautionary measures against as many people under investigation for drug dealing.
It’s about 8 women and 3 men who will have to answer to the accusation of criminal association aimed at drug dealing.
The organization dealt in particular hashish and cocaine. The sale took place by reproducing the sales systems of other famous Italian drug dealing squares such as Scampia in the province of Naples, or Tor Bella Monaca, a popular neighborhood in Rome. This system involves the use of slits obtained from the armored doors of the apartments.
For their drug dealing activity, the association had also illegally occupied some public housing in Latina owned by Ater. Furthermore, properties have also been built in non-buildable agricultural areas.
The investigations started from the statements of a member of the criminal organization
This morning’s operation took place on the orders of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Rome. It was conducted by the Investigative Unit of the Operations Department of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Latina together with the NORM-Operations Section of the Carabinieri Company of Latina. In the executive phase, the Carabinieri Aircraft Group of Pratica di Mare, the Dog Unit of Ponte Galeria and the Carabinieri responsible for the area intervened to support the operation.
The investigation activity carried out by the Carabinieri of the Latina Investigative Unit with the coordination of the DDA of Rome, developed between December 2021 and July 2022. The investigations developed starting from the declarations of a member of the investigated family who decided to make statements to the DDA in Rome.
The investigative activity was divided into observation services, classic investigation activities supported by technical interception activities, viewing of images from specially installed cameras and targeted checks.
The investigations made it possible to reconstruct the existence of a coterie, headed by the DI SILVIO family of Latina.
A proven drug dealing organization in the Nicolosi and Campo Boario neighborhoods of Latina in which women acted as “lookouts”
This association was dedicated to drug trafficking and operated in Latina, in particular in the “Campo Boario” and “Nicolosi” neighborhoods.
The organization included, among others, individuals who had already relapsed in the specific sector of drug crimes, some with the role of leader, promoter and financier and some with the role of simple participant of the association.
The organization ensured the stable supply of the drug dealing centers of Latina, almost 24 hours a day, thanks to a consolidated experience gained in the sector and a dense network of subjects dedicated to the marketing of the narcotic. In this context the women of the family acted as “lookouts”.
During the investigation, the Carabinieri have also already proceeded to report several buyers of narcotic substances.
