Montesilvano is going through a period of transformation thanks to National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). These financing they open up new opportunities for urban transformation, improving the quality of life of citizens.
The projects of Public Construction and Infrastructure Financed by the Pnrr in Montesilvano
The De Martinis administration obtained around 10 million of Euro for the construction of new schools it’s a sports facility multipurpose outdoor. These projects represent an opportunity worth seizing, they will enhance and improve existing facilities as well as offering greater safety and comfort for residents.
The specific projects and their leaders are:
● Multipurpose outdoor sports facility: financed with 2,500,000 EURO, responsible Geom. Mirko Parlione.
● Cliff repair via Aldo Moror: financed with 100,000 EURO, responsible Geom. Mirko Parlione.
● Renovation of former caretaker’s house: for temporary housing in the municipal cemetery, expenditure of 218,000 EURO, responsible surveyor. Fabrizio Conte.
● New schools: financing of almost 8 million EURO for the construction of nursery schools (4,706,779 EURO) and nursery schools (3,230,578 EURO), responsible for various municipal employees.
New Schools: European Funds also strengthen the infrastructure dedicated to the education of the New Generations in Montesilvano
The municipal administration obtained 11.8 million euros from Next Generation EU for the expansion and construction of nursery schools and nursery schools. These investments are fundamental for the future of the new generations, offering them a modern, technological and stimulating educational environment that will contribute to the social and cultural development of the community.

The five important public works projects in Montesilvano, financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and funds from the Region
● Corso Umberto and the Redevelopment of the Centre: The restyling of Corso Umberto, the central area of Montesilvano, work began in January with a budget of 1.5 million euros and an expected duration of six months, delivery expected at the end of June. The works will proceed in batches, starting from the area near the Cormorano and subsequently moving towards via Vestina and the station roundabout.
● Viale Europa: Pedestrianization and Traffic Reduction Viale Europa will see significant interventions worth one million euros, with works that will begin in February and continue until June.
● Via Vestina: One Kilometer of Interventions With funding of 3 million euros from the PNRR, Via Vestina will be the subject of works along its entire kilometer. The interventions began in February, the end of the works is scheduled for the summer period, with an estimated duration of 6-7 months, starting from the border with Cappelle sul Tavo.
● Via Saragat: The completion and connection works on via Saragat began in February thanks to a new loan of 2.4 million euros from the Region. This will allow the construction of the missing 600 meters of road that will connect via Saffi with via Saragat, with completion scheduled for spring 2025.
● Via D’Andrea: Boulevard, Park and Amphitheater the redevelopment of via D’Andrea, known as the Montesilvano boulevard, began in March with an investment of 1.8 million euros. The project includes the creation of a large park with an auditorium and the works are expected to be completed in 4-5 months.
● Waterfront Redevelopment and Recovery: in the stretches of Largo Venezuela and Stella Maris, with a Pinqua loan which also includes the recovery of Villa Delfico.
Viale Europa: PNRR funds give a new face to the artery that connects Corso Umberto to the seafront
This project involves the installation of new street furniture, the creation of fountains with plays of light and the adaptation of the road surface and sidewalks to bring them to a single level and the transformation of the stretch between the seafront and Viale Emilia into a predominantly pedestrian, drastically reducing vehicular traffic.
The redevelopment works will last 180 days, with a break in the summer period so as not to disturb the tourist flow. Delivery is scheduled for the first days of September. The objective of this work is to transform Viale Europa into a more accessible and attractive artery for both residents and visitors.

Spending Review Meloni Government and Montesilvano PNRR Projects
There spending review of the Government raises concerns for the first citizens of the Abruzzo Municipalities who are worried about the draft of the inter-ministerial decree of the MEF and the Ministry of the Interior, which will cut current resources, penalizing more precisely those Municipalities that have projects financed almost completely by the PNRR.
What projects are at risk for Montesilvano with the spending review?
If we consider the projects financed in full by the PNRR fund, after the capital cities, Pescara (27.9 million), Teramo (24.8), Chieti (20.5), the town of Montesilvano comes immediately after (15.7 ), Avezzano (9) and Lanciano (8.4). According to Openpolis estimates, the municipality bordering Pescara is among the municipalities most affected by the measures that the government intends to defund outright in addition to the 3 capital municipalities. De Martinis’ administration, which obtained funding for 25 projects to be carried out by 2026 for a total of 15.7 million, now risks heavy cuts with heavy negative repercussions on the municipal territories.
