TEGLIO VENETO – The news of Roberto Pio Pannozzo’s passing has left a deep wound in the heart of Teglio Veneto. The young man, known for his fighting spirit, surrendered after a long fight against a relentless disease, despite the numerous treatments he received in various hospitals in the Northeast, including Portogruaro, Pordenone and finally in the pediatric oncology department of the Padua hospital .
A lion on the field and in life
Roberto, affectionately known as Robertino, demonstrated extraordinary courage throughout the course of treatment, facing each therapy with the determination of a true champion. His passion for football saw him as a protagonist in various local teams such as Spal Cordovado, Morsano and Teglio, and also in Aurora San Nicolò.
Solidarity and support from the sporting community
Since his first hospital admission, Roberto has received a wave of affection and support from his teams. Comote and its members showed their support by giving him signed shirts, a symbolic gesture to convey closeness and courage to the young athlete during the most difficult moments. “It is with great disappointment that we learn the news of the passing of “our” Roberto. Day of mourning in honor of a young hero
The mayor of Teglio Veneto, Oscar Cicuto, has proclaimed a day of city mourning on 15 June 2024. During the mourning, public activities and local associations will interrupt their activities as a sign of respect during the hours of the funeral ceremony, which will be held in the Church of San Giorgio Martire. “The Municipal Administration and all citizens express their condolences for the premature death of the young Roberto Pio Pannozzo – we read on the City page -. Citizen mourning is proclaimed on Saturday 15 June 2024, inviting public businesses, citizens, political, sporting and social associations and organizations to express their closeness to the family by suspending activities from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm, coinciding with the funeral ceremony at the Church of San Giorgio Martire in Teglio Veneto”.
