One of our readers asks for urgent interventions for this delicate road situation

“Once the European electoral phase has passed, the people of Andria return to living, or rather to surviving, the usual problems that develop in the city. Apart from the Bluf Hospital, whose development is characterized by projects and planners but without funds currently available, there are various security problems quite widespread in the area, violence by age group (such as the increase in attacks and scams on the elderly), difficulty in accessing public services and especially health services. Then there are the usual traffic problems (and here the harmful commitment of the immobility manager together with the municipal administration’s management of city mobility (?)). Luckily when we talk about the management of public order by the urban police forces the situation gets worse, especially in the suburban neighborhoods.
We note that the situation of the roads in Andria, which has been partly mitigated by maintenance work in a small part of the city, remains a difficulty that the people of Andria suffer on a daily basis, desperation for the people of Andria, but not for tire dealers and body shop workers. If we then move on to the business card of the city, and I am referring to the accesses from the peripheral roads and the conditions of the public green areas which are dramatic throughout the city, we can only point out the abandonment and poor management of the road surface as well as poor signage horizontal and vertical. The situation gets worse when it comes to respecting the road code, but here the responsibility is shared by citizens who are poorly educated in respecting the law and by controllers, who are culpably absent.
And let’s get to my report. The SP130 that leads from Andria to Trani, it intersects with a deceleration road from the Andria semi-ring road as well as access/exit roads that serve important companies in the Andria area and commercial structures frequented by many citizens.
Now, considering that these roads are quite busy and that our memory takes us back to serious events, in consideration of the high traffic that develops on them, it would be appropriate to implement all the corrective measures necessary to avoid unpleasant unexpected events, I use a euphemism for not going further. In particular one could be a roundabout, not to mention improving signage, lighting and the constant presence of controls. And here arises the need to urge the Mayor to take this situation head on. If then, as some citizens suggest, a project is present and lying in the rooms of some municipal bureaucrat waiting for a reminder or something else, we could remind everyone that prevention is always better than complaining after the fact. We hope that the suggestion will be accepted“.
