Shows, catering, activities for families and children, prize fishing, the cycle rally, rides, a market, alongside moments of devotion in honor of the Madonna Stella Maris, protector of the Lido del Faro and fishermen.
They are among the events at the center of the PATRONAL FESTIVAL OF SANTA MARIA STELLA MARIS, in Fiumicino, which will be officially inaugurated on WEDNESDAY 19 June, at 7.30 pm, by the solemn OUTDOOR MASS, followed, at 8 pm, by the TORCH PROCESSION (Route: Via Giorgio Giorgis – Via Porto Romano – Via Portico Placidiano – Via Torre Alessandrina – Via Tempio della Fortuna – Viale delle Meduse).
The Prologue to the civil events will be tomorrow TUESDAY 18 June, at 7.15 pm, in the parish church, with the Concert of Sacred Music proposed by the “Stella Maris Choir”, with the participation of the “Marvasi” Choir of Rome and the Chamber Choir of the Academy International music “Opera House” of Rome. Festively lit up, stretches of Via Giorgio Giorgis and Viale delle Meduse, where the stage will be located, will host the various moments of the Festival.
THURSDAY 20th, after the 6th P. Alberico Papi Memorial cycle rally (at 6.15pm, prizes for all participants), the entertainment program will start in the evening, drawn up by the parish priest P.Sergio De Angelis and the Celebrations Committee, with the screening, on the MAXI SCREEN, of the ITALY-SPAIN European Football Championship match (9pm) and the start of the charity fishing, food activities, to have dinner together, and the market.
On the evening of FRIDAY 21st the dance show “Cose dell’altro mondo” by the Thru Ballet dance school;
SATURDAY 22nd, the Icaro concert, in a tribute to Renato Zero.
SUNDAY 23rd, the Luca Vicari & Anime Latine Band will be the protagonist with the concert dedicated to Lucio Battisti.
SUNDAY 23rd, at the end of the 5.30pm Mass, the Sacred Image of the Madonna will once again go in SOLEMN PROCESSION along the streets and will then be embarked on a unit of the Port Authority of Rome on the Fossa Traianea (the navigable canal), for the blessing to the port, the city, the faithful and the fishermen. The musical accompaniment will be by the Fiumicino Pro Loco musical band.
During the event there will be other moments of aggregation such as the carousels inside the parish field, the market managed by the Fiere & Eventi association, the Charity Fishing organized by the Scouts and the sale of lottery tickets will continue with 1st prize holiday for two people in Sardinia and 9 other gifts for the price of €1.00.
