The Florentine Democratic Network, in compliance with the constitutional provisions and in the interest of the community as a whole, invites electors and voters to go to the polling stations on the occasion of the run-offs in which the representatives and mayors of our territories will be decided. Non-voting in the latest electoral rounds is very high, sometimes exceeding participation: it is a renunciation of the possibility of deciding which policy we want, which representatives to elect. Without a vote we give up saying which path we want to take to solve individual and collective problems, we give up a piece of democracy, we give up a right built with many struggles and conquered in the post-war period with the 1946 elections and then with the approval of the Constitutional Charter which gave us a democracy based on representative and pluralist institutions.
We have in our hearts our anti-fascist Constitution which, today as yesterday, embodies those values for which our partisans fought – democracy, freedom, equality, social justice, peace and solidarity – and for this reason the 23rd and 24th June let’s all go and vote!
