The Civil Protection Functional Center of the Campania Region has issued a criticality warning for a heat wave.
Starting from 2 pm tomorrow, Wednesday 19 June, and for a duration of approximately 66 hours, critical situations could arise. Maximum temperatures are expected which, particularly on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st June, could exceed the seasonal average values of 5-6°C.
These temperatures will be accompanied by a humidity rate which, especially in the evening and night hours along the coastal sector, could exceed 60-70%, with poor ventilation conditions.
For this reason, the Civil Protection of Campania invites the competent local authorities “to implement the relevant procedures relating to the supervision of vulnerable sections of the population” And “recommends not going out during the hottest hours of the day, not exposing yourself to the sun or practicing outdoor activities and limiting travel by car.
Particular attention must be paid to heart patients, the elderly, children and those at risk. Always keep rooms properly ventilated. Make sure you stay hydrated by drinking water. Also pay attention to pets.”
