Prato, an exhibition dedicated to Pinocchio at Palazzo Banci Buonamici

Prato, 18 June 2024 – After the great success found in Sardinia, the exhibition dedicated to the most famous puppet in the world arrives in Lawn. From June 21st to July 7th the Sala Biagi of Palazzo Banci Buonamici will host an important exhibition which will include the exhibitions “To the tune of Pinocchio“, with 42 paintings by artists from all over Italy and “Pinocchio at work”, 21 wooden sculptures created by the artist Mauro Lampo. These will be accompanied by other personal exhibitions all dedicated to the Tuscan figure most loved and known by adults and children, as well as the exhibition of the Pinocchio costume worn by Roberto Benigni in the film of the same name and made available by the Prato Textile Museum. The exhibition was chosen as part of the theme “Pinocchio”, the leitmotif of the 17th edition of the Cultural Exchange, organized by the German Cultural Institute of Prato SI-PO, together with the VDIG (Federation of Italian-German Associations in Germany), which for the first time it will take place in Prato. The exhibition “On the notes of Pinocchio”, organized by the Collodi Foundation and the coordinator for art exhibitions Emiliano Landi, in collaboration with the author Katia Nocentini, aims to bring together artists of all kinds, offering them a stage on which to stage all the magic of the puppet’s story. The 42 paintings will form a cohesive unit that will allow you to admire the story of Pinocchio from a new perspective. In addition to the famous puppet, the paintings will also focus on the other characters in the story, resulting in a lively and dynamic exhibition. The inauguration of the exhibition will be held on Friday 21 June at 5pm, and will be open to the public from Monday to Saturday from 4pm to 7pm and on Sunday from 11am to 7pm. The SI-PO Cultural Association of Prato was founded in 2009 by a group of teachers and people with broad cultural interests, with the aim of promoting cultural and intercultural activities.
