Over 150 historical and current members of the Ravenna Chiefs took part in the dinner for the 40th anniversary of the founding of the American football team, organized at Campaza. The evening was enlivened by the greetings of some of the guests who returned to Ravenna for the occasion, such as the historic head coach Steve Campos, who led the team in its first Serie A championship in 1987, or John Green, who in the same years was he was one of the first American players to wear the Chiefs shirt. At the end of the evening, the words of the current president of the Chiefs, Alberto Rigon, reiterated the most important message: the love for these colors and for American football, today as forty years ago, is more alive than ever in Ravenna . The Federation itself has, in fact, recognized the importance of the city of Ravenna in the history of American Football in Italy, designating it as the venue for the 2024 Italian Bowl, or this season’s National Finals. The Benelli stadium will be the scene of the XLIII Super Bowl, which will be played on June 29th at 9pm and will see the last two teams winning the national title on stage, with the Panthers Parma holders of the trophy who will challenge the Guelfi Firenze, champions in 2022. Also at Benelli di Ravenna, on 5 and 6 July, the XXIV Ninebowl and the XXX Silverbowl will also be played, which will assign the titles of the Nine Football League and the Second Division respectively (both championships have yet to designate the finalists). The Chiefs experience the possibility of hosting these three evenings of great football in their city with great pride and satisfaction, and in view of the event they have decided to organize a promotional Open Day, open to all fans and interested parties. The meeting, scheduled for Saturday at Parco Teodorico, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm, will be a great opportunity to receive information and vouchers for the purchase of Italian Bowl tickets, get to know the team better and get closer to the world of American Football.
