Fare Verde Vittoria has raised an alarm due to the numerous reports received from citizens regarding the worrying phenomenon of columns of thick black smoke that materialize every morning at dawn or in the evening at dusk in the transformed area of the territory. This smoke is the result of the illegal burning of thousands of tons of plastic discarded from greenhouses and unsorted municipal waste.
The air becomes unbreathable
The air becomes unbreathable, acrid and irritating for several hours as columns of toxic smoke slowly expand and dissolve. These clouds contain particles of dioxin, a highly toxic compound for humans, animals and the environment, which settles on the soil, seriously polluting it.
Fare Verde Vittoria questions the possibility of an economic and social relaunch of the territory, which is currently characterized by a high incidence of social and environmental diseases. Fare Verde Vittoria asks all the competent authorities to work together to adopt measures, even unpopular, but necessary to respect environmental sustainability.
