Pescara elections, Masci reconfirmed in the first round – News

Pescara. Carlo Masci is reconfirmed mayor of Pescara.

The outgoing mayor, candidate of the centre-right coalition (Forza Italia, Fratelli d’Italia, Lega, Pescara Futura, Masci Sindaco per Pescara Unica 2024 and Udc), wins the local elections in the first round with 50.95% of the votes.

The coalition party exploded in the headquarters of the electoral committee behind Piazza Salotto: the regional leaders of Forza Italia, Lega and Fratelli d’Italia were also present, among others Nazario Pagano, Guerino Testa, Etel Sigismondi and Guido Liris.

A roar at 10.35pm welcomed the entrance of Masci, who arrived supported by his children Fabio and Angela: “It has never happened that a mayor won twice in a row in the first round, Pescara gave me an uncontainable joy”, he said, adding: “Pescara residents can rest assured, I love this city and I will protect it as long as I am here, because Pescara deserves the best and you will have it. This time the people of Pescara, like never before, have decided to do things and we will do them.”

Regarding Nuova Pescara, he anticipated: “I will be the last mayor of Pescara but not the first of Nuova Pescara, I will end my wonderful adventure with this administration”.

A reference to the main “challenger” is inevitable: “Carlo Costantini is an excellent lawyer and a splendid person. Unfortunately in politics one wins, the other loses. Pescara is in my heart, but I am in the heart of the people of Pescara and of Pescara.”

Then the inevitable bottles of sparkling wine uncorked to rejoice, with kisses, hugs and selfies.
