They had been arguing for weeks, making themselves heard from much of the street. The reasons? The banal ones that infuriate the neighbors, from shared spaces to annoying noises. This time, however, the situation worsened: one of them decided to “clarify it once and for all” and showed up in front of the “rival’s” apartment. An argument broke out, yet another. The screams became more and more heated, until the person who showed up at the neighbor’s house pulled out the knife, which he had brought from home. At this point, the victim tried to take cover and leave the house. And it was outside, before the eyes of the neighborhood, that he was shot repeatedly.
Tragedy came close to happening late yesterday afternoon in Levico Terme. With a stabbing that left a 46-year-old man dying, of Moroccan origin. The incident happened around 5.40pm, in via Santa Croce, in a quiet residential area that leads to the lido. The neighbors witnessed the scene and immediately called for help. After the stab wounds, the 46-year-old ended up on the ground, bleeding and unconscious. Given the seriousness of the situation, the helicopter was alerted and took off from Mattarello. The man was rescued in very serious conditions and rushed to the Santa Chiara hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He has wounds in various parts of his body, including his arms and abdomen, but it is a blow to his neck that is most worrying: that is why he risked his life.
After the operation the man was hospitalized in intensive care: doctors are reserve on the prognosis. After the ambush, the attacker fled: a desperate attempt, because many had seen him and just as many knew of the resentment he harbored towards his neighbor. The manhunt began immediately, with the Carabinieri of the Borgo Valsugana company on the trail of the stabber. But, in the end, it was he who showed up at the barracks, at the Piazza Alberto Dalla Chiesa station. He turned himself in there: he was arrested on serious charges of attempted murder. He also risks the aggravating circumstance for trivial reasons.
