BUSTO ARSIZIO – The local police has a new logo: a shield to recall protection, the city with its borders and its coat of arms, but also the colors green, of the Lombardy Region, and blue, of the officers’ uniforms. He accomplished it Kiara Carlomagno, student of the ACOF institute – Olga Fioriniwhich was the winner of the competition to design the new logo.
The awards ceremony
The competition awards ceremony took place on the morning of June 14th, in the presence of mayor Emanuele Antonelliof the safety councilor Salvatore Loschiavo and of the commission that evaluated the works presented by the students, composed for the local police by the commander Stefano Lanna and the deputy commander Cristina Fossati and from Erika Ottohead of the Coordination Unit, together with the head of the Municipality’s press office Emanuela Bonecchi and to the professor Giuseppe Pacciarottiart historian.
The awards
To the initiative, born from the need to create a logo capable of identifying and representing the Local Police Force in an incisive manner, 27 high school students participated of Busto Arsizio. In addition to the winner, the works of were also recognized with a special mention Davide Belloni And Mattia Fiorillo of the ACOF Fiorini, and those of Giorgia Guffanti And Nicolas Lini of the Candiani artistic high school.
The voices
«A great idea to bring citizens, especially the younger ones, closer to the local police that they carry out a very precious role for our safety» the words of mayor Antonelli. «The logo is a strong element of identification and helps to create a sense of belonging and continuity, values that are needed” adds councilor Loschiavo. «Children are our future and they must participate in institutional life – underlines Commander Lanna – it is up to us to provide the stimuli to do so».
The winning logo
The shape of the logo created by the very young Kiara, followed by professor Francesca Marchesi, recalls the shield and therefore the concept of protection. In his work, as highlighted by the commission, not they are missing a graphic reference to the city territory and the logo of the Municipality of Busto Arsizio: together with the chosen colors they contribute to creating a sense of belonging (green recalls the Lombardy Region, blue the color of the uniforms). The inclination of the text is instead a tribute to the dynamism of the local police and its evolution over time.
