LECCE, Two villas and a trullo rented illegally discovered

Income not declared to the tax authorities amounts to over 200 thousand euros.

As part of the activities aimed at combating evasion in the tourism sector of short-term rentals, the Financiers of the Tenenza di Leuca have identified two luxurious villas and a valuable trullo rented out illegally to unsuspecting tourists. The three properties with sea view, located in the renowned seaside resorts of Torre Pali and Pescoluse in the Municipality of Salve, have been the subject of recent renovation works and are equipped with every comfort, including a relaxation area and swimming pool. In particular, following the findings carried out by the Fiamme Gialle during the specific control activities carried out in the sector of illegal tourist rentals, supported by the outcome of the consultation of the databases used by the departments of the Guardia di Finanza, the holders of the three aforementioned properties, resident in the Municipality of Salve, which were accused of failing to declare income deriving from tourist rentals for over 200 thousand euros. Countering tax evasion means contributing to the prospects of recovery and relaunch of the country’s economy and encouraging a more equitable distribution of the tax levy among citizens (“paying everyone to pay less”).
