“We learn, from the press, that the Municipality of Larino is the recipient of a loan of €576,000.00 for the construction/expansion of a 24-place nursery. A “public” nursery school is missing, and the possibility of having one available must be seen with a positive perspective, for an offer aimed at families who need it – they say Vito Di Maria – Maria Giovanna Civitella – Michele Palmieri – Salvatore Faiella of Insieme per Larino – ua service that could have already been present, regardless of the financing obtained, if the choices of the Puchetti Administration had been different. For those with short memories, Larino already has a structure to be used as a nursery school and, possibly, as a nursery school. A structure, strongly desired by the then Notarangelo Administration and financed with over 900,000 euros of public funds, to accommodate the children who, after the San Giuliano earthquake, continued to attend school in the containers. An earthquake-proof school with all comforts, capable of hosting up to 90 children. For the completion and opening works only further financing was needed, but the Notarangelo administration ended its mandate and the management of public affairs passed into the hands of the Puchetti administration. Following a logical and good practice, the incoming administration should have completed the work in order to finally be able to offer a cutting-edge structure to the children who would attend it. But no, the school is too beautiful and safe to be able to offer it to children, it is better to change its intended use and offer it as the seat of the Justice of the Peace. All of this, not at zero cost, but by spending 100,000 euros of funds from the municipal coffers. Almost 3 years after the change of use, the building still remains closed without being the seat of the nursery school or the seat of the Justice of the Peace. For the latter, the administration’s decision is not enough, but further and mandatory higher level authorizations (national and European) are necessary, as the funding granted was intended for the construction of a nursery school and not the seat of the Judge of peace. A detail of no small importance. As in the famous game of three cards which, by jumping from one side of the table to the other, hidden from the hands of the skilled player, make you believe you can understand, but no one really knows where the winning card is. Today it rejoices in financing, like the administration of doing, but in our opinion it is nothing more than the umpteenth demonstration of the lack of planning, organization and ability to manage public affairs, where the important thing is to be able to declare that we have made the money in Larino and being able to please someone. To conclude, bringing money to Larino is good (for whom?) while delaying in having a nursery school (6 years of administration + 4 to build a new one, if all goes well) is bad (for whom?) for the community. ”
