Villa Olmo beach: sunbathing, games and snacks on the lawn despite the prohibitions

There are bans but it is clear that they are not respected. And so on an anonymous Monday afternoon in June characterized by finally summer temperatures, the Villa Olmo park turns back into Villa Olmo beach. There are those who read in the sun, those who play with the children, those who have a snack, those who have put on their bathing suits and have stretched out comfortably on the lawns for a bit of tan. But there are also those who pedal on their bicycles, those who improvise as tennis players with rackets in hand and those who take photographs and filming between one hedge and another.

And this – as mentioned – in defiance of the signs that clearly indicate what can and cannot be done in the park which – as we read – “is a protected cultural asset”. Beyond the controversy of recent months over whether or not to add a series of rules, now that the rules exist they should be respected, at least to avoid incurring sanctions.

The bikes should be carried by hand, the flowerbeds should not be trampled on – so much so that the lawns have been delimited by red and white tape – there is also a ban on smoking, consuming alcohol and playing ball or similar, goodbye too at picnics on the grass. “Incorrect behavior will be punished according to current regulations” reads the sign at the entrance while checks are intensified over the weekend. He had been the mayor, Alessandro Rapinese, at the end of last year to explain the changes to the 2018 regulation: “Let’s start preparing a decent future for the villa – he said – by putting some order”.
