Under 23 Scudetto, Pumas Viareggio beaten in the final by Breganze. Sixth place for Camaiore

With a Serie A1 crowd, Hockey Breganze triumphs in the category at the second edition of the Under 23 Finals, repeating the Scudetto won with the Under 13 team. An exciting Scudetto Final against Pumas Again Viareggio, won 2-1 by boys directed by Fausto Pozzan and Gabriele Thiella. A final opened by a Eurogoal from the Argentine Ramiro Torres, surpassing the Italian Mechini in the rise and smashing a direct shot. Again Torres himself gave the through assist for the speeding deflection of Pietro Agostini, one of the MVPs of the Under 23 event. The Tuscans had not stood by and watched and there were several opportunities to reopen the match which, promptly, managed to reopen in the middle of the second half, with Francesco Carrieri’s undersized deflection on Pesavento’s long-range shot. However, the rossoverdi were unable to draw the match and the Scudetto was thus won by the home team 2-1.

An Under 23 final phase which closed the seasonal event with the clubs and opens the doors to the last sporting window, that of the Promote interzonal trophy in Correggio next weekend.

VenetaLab Breganze had won Group A with full points, a tough group which however saw the top three already securing access to the second phase in the very first matches. The Rossoneri won 8-2 against Azzurra Novara and during the night they defeated former Italian champions Giovinazzo 6-3. On Friday afternoon they prevailed for the first time over Pumas Viareggio 3-2, along the lines of the final. On Sunday the appointment with the semi-final again against AFP Giovinazzo: the result of 6-2 projected the Vicenza players of Pozzan and Thiella into the final, while in the other part of the scoreboard Pumas won 1-0 over Amatori Modena. If Bertolucci’s boys won a well-deserved silver, the bronze was won by Amatori Modena 1945, winning 3-1 over Giovinazzo (two goals by Vaccari and one by Bozzetto). The Emilians had won the balanced Group B with 8 points, winning 3-1 against Sarzana and Bassano 3-2 and drawing 2-2 against both Camaiore and Seregno. These two teams were the protagonists of the 5-6 place Final, won 3 minutes from the end by the Lombards 6-5. The FISR Cup, however, was won by Sarzana, beating Bassano 6-4 while Novara placed ninth and Montecchio tenth.
