The social cooperative The Village in the cityFor 16 years now, it has been promoting and organizing a summer event aimed at adults, children and families with the aim of promoting opportunities for meeting and informal exchange between members, friends, supporters and citizens of the area.
This year the event has been renamed “Fridays FOR The Village”, wanting, with the addition of the preposition PER, also to indicate a self-financing purpose, in order to make the cooperative’s activities more sustainable. With what will be possible to collect from dinners and bar activities, the cooperative will finance trips, outings, laboratory and experiential courses aimed at children and young people who attend the cooperative’s services in various capacities, from after-school activities to summer centers, from nursery to day communities.
This is how they explain the initiative from via Pozzi: «Our organization is not the only one to be exposed to the winds of precariousness that this historical moment puts to the test, even long-lasting realities, and we, among the many paths we are taking to remain rooted in our soil and territory, we have chosen that of reciprocity. We are proud of the experience we have had so far and we borrow this pride above all from the meetings with the now adults, who a few years ago were teenagers and children and who have traveled a stretch of the road with us. On the not rare occasions when former children come to look for us to say hello, to see what has changed and what has remained the same, we find adults who keep their eyes open, who do not deny the efforts made and those that have arrived more recently, who rolled up their sleeves and with pride, from theirs to ours, show the results they have obtained: some the qualification, some the permanent contract, some an independent home, some a child”.
This pride pushes operators to establish a reciprocal relationship with the city and citizens, being able to offer a nice meeting opportunity in exchange for presence and economic support in order to provide continuity
to the social psycho-pedagogical action of the cooperative.
The invitation to participate in the event “Fridays FOR The Village” it is open to all and will kick off Friday 21 June with a Murder Mystery Dinner, animated by the company “Il Villaggio theatrical” – directed and conducted by Elis Ferracini; following Friday 28 June Spanish Dinner and Karaoke, 5 July Greek Dinner and Quiz “dott. Why?”, 12 July Indian dinner and musical evening with the “Space Ado & friends” concert e last evening, Friday 19 July, Mexican dinner and “Cà Burat” puppet show by and with Elis Ferracini. The bar service will be open every evening from 7pm.
Entrance for the aperitif and entertainment is free, reservations for dinner are mandatory.
