The show “Marie” in Asti

“Marie” by and with Elena Montagnini of the Onda Teatro company will be staged on Saturday 22 June, at 9.30 pm, at the Family Foyer in Via Miliavacca5 (Piazza Castigliano) in Asti. The evening, organized by Casa degli Alfieri with the Acli Foyer Family Club, is part of the mini-exhibition “Without losing tenderness. Stories of women”, supported by the 5 x thousand of the ACLI.

Marie Curie was not only an immense scientist, a pioneer of female emancipation; Marie was an adventurer, an explorer in the true sense of the word. She sailed in seas of prejudice, climbed mountains of difficulty, always choosing her own path, with an ascetic dedication to study and science, but also an immeasurable love towards nature and the human being.
Alone on stage, an eclectic Montagnini tells, with few props, the adventurous story of this woman, born Maria Sklodowska, a young Polish woman who with her own strength and – for a period – a great man at her side, manages to make a discovery that will revolutionize the world to come. The historical cross-section that acts as a backdrop (or perhaps it would be better to say as a co-protagonist) to the story is also incredible: that of the early twentieth century, a period in which everything is possible, the Great Wars are still to come, Positivism fuels hope and Science is the bulwark of the evolution of mankind.

The dramaturgical research, being able to make use of a large amount of biographical material, tells not only the epic and scientific part, but also tries to grasp the human part: the choices, the difficulties, the profound motivations that drove her – like other great minds of the beginning of the last century – to investigate beyond the known, to reveal new and unimaginable perspectives.
The artistic supervision is by Bobo Nigrone, the scientific supervision by Prof. Silvia Casassa of the Department of Chemistry / Unito.

Entrance fees are 5 euros.
For those interested, from 7.30 pm, aperitif (10 euros) at the bistro in the foyer, by reservation on 3357553456.

The second and last appointment of “Without losing tenderness. Stories of women” will be on Saturday 13 July, again at 9.30pm at the Foyer delle Famiglie, with “Travelling with Olympe – dialogue with a revolutionary”, on the figure of Olympe de Gouges, playwright and political activist, today considered a pioneer of feminism.

The program is part of “Cuntè Munfrà”, promoted by the Casa degli Alfieri and supported by the Piedmont Region, the CRT Foundation and the CRAsti Foundation.
