Campobasso. The following day of the programmatic agreement between the Civic Construction Site and the Progressive Front, Pino Ruta, leader of the civic coalition, illustrated the terms, agreements and conditions of the common proposal. There are eight points that Maria Luisa Forte, candidate for mayor of Campobasso for the progressive coalition, has decided to make her own:
- Review of the acts on the relocation and divestment of schools;
- Efficiency of waste collection;
- Adoption of the new building regulations;
- Regeneration of former Hotel Roxy and Romagnoli area;
- Relocation of the military district.
Added to these points are three others proposed by the Cantiere Civico, which asks for as many councilors for specific roles, also indicating the possible holders, all unrelated to the group of elected councillors:
- Pietro Colucci for districts, public works, community funds and school buildings.
- Giovannino Cornacchione with delegation to the Historic Centre, Culture, Arts and Crafts.
- Vincenzo De Iasio for healthcare, disability policies, equal opportunities and combating inequalities.
The agreement sparked reactions in the opposing camp. Aldo De Benedittis, centre-right mayoral candidate, harshly criticized the agreement reached between progressives and civic leaders. With a double note, he branded the agreement as a “meddle intended for the division of seats”.
De Benedittis declared: “They invented the formula of the political-programmatic agreement precisely to cover what happens in substance, a beautiful and good mix-up between two distant realities united only by the desire to divide power. We make the comparison we did with the citizens.” He added that “the circus of the left offers a tragicomic spectacle that causes embarrassment and sadness” and that Campobasso has a historic opportunity to put an end to what he called “the sad comedy of the left”.
