The Municipal Police of Benevento – Judicial Police Unit – under the orders of Commander Pasquale Puglieseduring the performance of an activity aimed at combating crimes damaging the environment and the protection of public health, on 06.14.2024, intercepted and stopped, after several plainclothes stakeouts and through the use of camera traps, a company truck transporting large quantities of special non-hazardous industrial waste quantified as a total of 100 kg such as aggregates, plastic processing waste, construction waste, etc.
The employee of an industrial complex in Benevento traveled without being registered in the National Register of environmental managers and in the absence of the identification form required by the current Environmental Code. Having assessed what emerged, the operators urgently placed the truck containing waste under criminal seizure and proceeded to report the driver of the truck to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Benevento in a state of freedom for environmental violations. The operation it falls within the scope of the environmental protection plan prepared, with a technical table by the municipal authority and the technicians of Asia together with the staff of the Judicial Police Unit. Commander Pugliese ensures further and specific plainclothes services aimed at repressing such serious illicit conduct.
The person subjected to investigations is to be considered innocent until finally convicted. The measure carried out is a real precautionary measure against which appeals are permitted.
