While the meetings between the lists and parties of Fellegara’s coalition continue to decide whether and who to support between the two candidates in the run-off – the civic Alessandro Mager and Gianni Rolando of the centre-right, the latter leading by 10 points in the first round – the first stance. And it is that of Energia Democratica Sanremo, a current (technically they are called “motions”) of the Democratic Party, which has decided not to wait for the meeting of the lists scheduled for this evening and make its choice of side.

The indication of freedom to vote by some #centre-left parties is a support for the right.
Some parties have decided not to give an indication of their vote for the next runoffs, but in the face of this extremist right, the parties that proclaim themselves progressive and reformist have the duty to take clear sides to provide clarity to their electorate. It’s time not to back down: in the run-offs for the municipal elections on Sunday 23 and Monday 24 June we must commit ourselves to getting the center-left candidates elected. The differentiated autonomy, the premiership, the violation of social rights, poor work and verbal and physical aggression in Parliament unequivocally confirm the need for a political barrier to defeat the nationalist right. This is why we have the obligation to clarify our choices and go and vote for the center-left candidate, regardless of the party we belong to. Remaining silent only for local reasons or personal interests means, in fact, supporting the current government.
The challenge is crucial and requires collective commitment. Only with decisive support can we hope to build a future based on values of progress, reformism and social justice. Every vote counts and our commitment can make a difference.
