He has five world titles, nine European titles and also an Olympic bronze, in Madison at Tokyo 2021. Benjamin Thomas, French track champion, winner of a splendid stage of the Giro d’Italia in Lucca about a month ago, will be the protagonist again at the Fiorenzuola d’Arda Velodrome, as part of the international track grand prix that will take place during the next 6 Rose Days, from 29 June to 4 July. Specifically, Thomas will compete in the omnium valid as Gp BFT Burzoni, scheduled for Monday 1 July. In the past the athlete born in ’95 has already won this test in Fiorenzuola, a track where he is practically at home. And in the omnium he will then be the protagonist at the Paris Olympics in August. Fiorenzuola will therefore be an important step towards the Games for him.
Entrance to the “Pavesi” Velodrome, for all six days, will also be free this year and every evening at the entrance it will however be possible to make a free offer for three important local entities. On the first two evenings (Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June) the offers will be donated to the Amici del Cane Association, which manages the intermunicipal kennel located in Fiorenzuola, a short distance from the Velodrome. On the third and fourth evening, Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd July, the funds will go to the Florenzuola association “I mici di Miciobau”, founded in 2009 and which today takes care of around a hundred cats in various colonies in the area. The offers collected in the fifth and sixth evenings, however, will be donated to Amop, the Piacenza Oncology Sick Association, an important organization founded in 2002, chaired by Romina Piegiorgi, which promotes research on tumors, studies, conferences, debates, experiments in the field oncology to improve the quality of life of the cancer patient and their families.
