Let’s make a premise, namely that in these contexts a solution is always found in the end. However, the situation between Empoli and Davide Nicola is increasingly complicated and could lead to a block for the coach, who risks being left without a team if the compensation requested by the Italian club does not arrive. It has been clear for some time now that Nicola prefers to land in Cagliari, but Empoli does not intend to let him go without obtaining adequate compensation.
The formula identified for the termination of the contract provides for the transfer of a player to Cagliari with a premium of approximately one and a half million euros. At the moment the negotiations between the two companies do not seem to be going well, with the parties still far from finding a satisfactory agreement. Empoli, which finds itself in the delicate position of being able to have two coaches under contract without either of them being operational (Nicola will not coach the Azzurri in any case), could decide not to release Nicola if they do not receive the requested compensation.
