Construction, substantially stable turnover for Piacenza companies in the first quarter of 2024: -0.5% compared to the same quarter of 2023. Craftsmanship is suffering the most with -3.6%. In the first quarter of 2024, the turnover of the construction sector shows a slightly negative trend in Piacenza; a -0.5%, essentially, which still appears better than a regional figure which signals a drop of 3%. Crafts, however, fell by 3.6%, however in a less negative balance than the regional average of -5.5%.
The data are highlighted by the survey of the research office of Emilia Chamber of Commerce on small and medium-sized enterprises, from which it emerges that, with reference to the trend in turnover compared to the first quarter of 2023, 16% of the sample of construction companies investigated shows an increasing trend (against a regional 22%), the 68% reported stability (47% regional) and 16% complained of a decrease (against 31% regional). For crafts, 27% show a decrease in turnover (34% regional), 58% stability (51% regional) and 15% a development (coinciding with the regional data).
With regards to production, in the reference quarter compared to the first quarter of 2023, 78% of Piacenza manufacturers recorded stability (against a regional 63%), 4% an increase (against 8% regional) and 18% a decrease (29 regional %. The artisans in the sector indicate 68% stability (65% regional), 6% development (coinciding with the regional data) and 26% decrease (29% regional). The forecasts on the trend of business volume for the second quarter of 2024 highlight 87% of manufacturers most likely to hypothesize stability (71% regional), 6% for development (18% regional) and 7% who hypothesize a slowdown , against the regional 11%. For artisans in the sector, 78% of those interviewed predict stability (74% regional), 9% predict development (13% regional) and 13% hypothesize a slowdown (14% regional).
