REGGIO EMILIA – Sport and inclusion to combat educational poverty and promote knowledge towards correct nutrition. Sport never stop is a national project curated by The Tree of Life Foundation And Conad Foundation. Eight cities were touched throughout the peninsula, Reggio is one of these. The key points of the project are these. ‘We decided to do this project because every boy can choose the sport that interests him most. This applies to kids who are in difficulty and who could never choose a sport. We first teach him a nutritional part, which is fundamental. But also the reason for sport: he teaches discipline, a method and many other things.
Around 250 kids were involved at a national level, 10% of them, 25, were hosted at ValoRugby. Here they participated in mini rugby activities and will also be protagonists in the summer camps. ‘We were pleased to collaborate on this important project which then spread across our territory, precisely because we work daily with local entities and institutions in areas of inclusion to prevent the discomfort and dispersion of young people’ – added Valeria Prampolini , of the ValoRugby Board of Directors.
Among the main supporters of the project is the Conad Foundation. ‘Conad, in general, often takes part in these projects that we call solidarity, social and intervention in the territory – declared Mauro Rondanini, member of the Board of Directors of Conad Centro Nord – in this case it is a question of helping and trying to include, in sporting activities, children who have greater economic needs. Even more so, this is the value of this initiative.’
