Mandatory residence only in the urban center of Licata: the investigating judge Giuseppe Miceli officially revokes the house arrest with the electronic bracelet to which the twenty-seven-year-old Francesco Buscemi from Licata had been subjected for almost four months, arrested on 21 February together with his twenty-three-year-old girlfriend Federica Alongi after the police he had stopped them with 1.2 kilos of cocaine in the car.

The judge, ruling on the request of his lawyers Alberto Caffarello and Vincenzo Alesci to grant him authorization to leave the house to go to work, decided to further lighten the restrictive measure in consideration of the conduct adopted after the arrest and the subsequent weather.

Therefore, against Buscemi, only the obligation to live in the urban center of Licata was applied with the further requirement to stay at home from 8pm to 8am unless he could make an exception to go to work in a pizzeria as requested by the defence.
The young man, as partially confirmed, would have had his girlfriend accompany him on the journey to Reggio Calabria to collect a block of cocaine and take it to Licata where the drug would have been sold at retail and would have brought in a lot of money.
Buscemi, in particular, he has declared of having taken the package with the drugs, on commission, commissioned by a person he couldn’t recognize who promised to earn 1,000 euros. A purchase, therefore, that he would have made, according to his version, without his girlfriend’s knowledge and without knowing what was inside the package.
