MIRANDOLA – Promptly start an inter-institutional table to avoid the dismissal of the many Bellco workers, who today live in uncertainty about their future and to whom we give our utmost support and support to positively overcome this crisis and to arrive at a solution that avoid bringing hundreds of families and an entire community to their knees.

This is what was reiterated by the president of the Province of Modena on Monday 17 June, meeting together with the prefect of Modena Alessandra Camporota, the workers of Bellco di Mirandola, the biomedical company of the multinational Mozarc, which last 12 June communicated its intention to interrupt the production of dialysis machines and related consumables, with a consequent redundancy of 350 employees.

During the meeting, in the presence of the trade unions who have been demonstrating for days in front of the company gates alongside the workers, the Province of Modena and the Prefecture made a commitment to «act through every institutional form to find a solution that ensures current employment levels are maintained, with the firm commitment not to leave workers alone. With the trade unions, whom we thank for their constant and precious work, we intend to bring these requests to every institutional level, involving all levels of government, so that the crisis is averted. Bellco is a very important piece of a district, the biomedical one in the lower Modena area, which represents excellence in the country and in Europe. The guarantee of this success is ensured by the people and it is unthinkable to do without them, especially in a market that increasingly seeks and rewards the value and quality of products”.

Currently the company, founded by Mario Veronesi in 1973 and which represents a piece of history of Modena biomedical district, has guaranteed continuity only for the research & development sector and support functions which will not be affected by the reorganisation.
