In fact, today’s news, 17 June, is the resignation of the now former vice-president of AC Legnano, Davide Piccardo. During the presentation of the management team which took place on March 29th had been discussed imperative need to unitefans and club, around the common interest: to lift Legnano football from the quagmire into which it had fallen, providing economic means to ensure solidity but above all by introducing a vision of the future. “I don’t want to look to the past, and I, as well as my collaborators, are committed to giving stability on all fronts to this company which I consider and believe to be important, to be valorised as best as possible. The imperative is to unite what others have divided before us.”these were the words of President Benedetto on that occasion.
Today 17 June, less than three months after the Friday afternoon during which the first press conference of the new staff took place, it seems clear that looking at the recent past represents the way forward to understand the reason for so many passings of the baton. A historic and prestigious company – everyone points this out well – which however changed hands in record time. One year and already two owners, two changes in the presidency and in the management structure, now almost at the third change in the role of general manager (read here)
“My experience at AC Legnano has come to an end, I announce my resignation from the role of vice-president of the company. In recent months I have always tried to give my contribution in the interest of the club, the team and all those who love Legnano. I sincerely hope that the company will find a way to recover and regain the place it deserves for its important history.”
