Today, Monday 17 June 2024, the opening of another construction site linked to the tram works. Another important piece in view of the revolution in city public transport in Padua, which will see the transit of all eight tram lines right near the station.

In addition to the positioning of the tracks, the works include the construction of a ring for the interchanges and the various platforms. It will be precisely here that the three lines will intersect Sir1, Sir 2 and Sir 3.

Traffic disruptions

A job that already promises to be particularly complex: in fact, Palazzo Moroni has decided to carry it out in two tranches. The first by the end of summer 2024, the second in 2025. The objective is to impact traffic as little as possible.

However, traffic in front of the Padua station will suffer obvious inconveniences in the coming months, especially due to the closure of cars arriving from Way of Peace.

Anyone who has to take the train will be forced to make the round trip Codalunga Avenue or enter from the back on via d’Avanzo.

For those arriving from Corso del Popolo nothing changes, just as for those arriving from Viale Codalunga. Metropark and Bicipark will be open and accessible. In this sentence there will be no interference with bus lines which pass through or end up in the station square.
