VITERBO – “Proudly an idiot in defense of workers”, “We are human material to be thrown away by those who govern the city”. These are the slogans that were displayed on the t-shirts this morning and on the banners of the Uil of Viterbo which took to the field with a sit-in under the windows of the Municipality to protest all its dissent towards the words pronounced by the mayor Chiara Frontini during the famous dinner at the home of the former councilor Bruzziches. The ex is also present mayor of Viterbo, Giovanni Arena, the city councilors Giulio Marini, Laura Allegrini, Martina Minchella, Matteo Achilli, the former culture councilor Marco De Carolis, the secretary of the Young Democrats Francesco Boscheri and the academic senator Unitus Lucia Ferrante.

The general secretary of Uil Lazio, Alberto Civica stated: “We are protesting this way of doing things, it is our duty to defend not only the workers but also the services we provide for all citizens. We hope that the mayor will clarify these positions that she has taken.”

The secretary of the Uil of Viterbo, Giancarlo Turchetti added: “We are here today to protest against the heavy statements that the mayor made towards municipal employees, defining them as human material to be thrown away at least 50% and the insults she made towards the organization I represent, because the insults he made to me (he called him an “asshole”, ed.) are in fact aimed at the organization because I speak in the name and on behalf of the organization. We ask that a step be taken back so that normal trade union relations and the normal relationships that must exist can be re-established”.

Maurizio Buzzoni, general secretary of Uil Fpl remarked. “When it comes down to mockery, lack of respect, I believe it is a mistake both for the institutions and for those who have to carry out the work of representing workers every day. Workers have their dignity which must be respected and we believe that when things don’t go well there is always a problem and therefore it would be better if these things did not happen. We are waiting to understand what the mayor intends to do to restore correctness in both personal and institutional relationships.”
