This morning the mayor took to the streets to speak with trade unionists and clarify her statements about Turchetti, defined as “an idiot”, and the municipal employees, labeled, for 50% of them, as “human material to be thrown away”. All during the dinner at the home of councilor Marco Bruzziches on 26 September last year.
Dinner which started the prosecutor’s investigations which led to the request for the indictment of Frontini and the martyr Fabio Cavini by the prosecutors Massimiliano Siddi and Chiara Capezzuto. Prosecutors who had also asked for immediate judgment, which was rejected by investigating judge Rita Cialoni.

In the morning the Uil Viterbo demonstration. About a hundred people in the town square wore a t-shirt with the words “Proudly an idiot in defense of workers”.
The union’s request: “The mayor takes to the streets – said Turchetti and apologizes to the municipality employees and Uil”.
At a certain point the mayor took to the streets, took a step back regarding her statements and confronted Giancarlo Turchetti and Alberto Civica, regional secretary and Viterbo secretary of the Uil respectively.

“With regard to employees – explained Frontini, addressing the trade unionists – we have already clarified ourselves. There are things to fix and pockets of inefficiency to address. I’m sorry if I offended anyone, but that wasn’t the intention. The situation, as well as the statements against Turchetti, must be contextualized in the dinner of September 26th which came under the spotlight”.
“As far as Uil is concerned – added Frontini -, maximum respect for the union and for Giancarlo Turchetti”.
“We are satisfied with what happened this morning and with the mayor’s statements – concluded Turchetti -. Peace made. The discussion with the municipality is reopened, to protect workers’ rights.”

Presumption of innocence
In the Italian criminal system the presumption of innocence applies until the final sentence. Presumption of innocence which is based on article 27 of the Italian constitution according to which a person “is not considered guilty until finally convicted”.
