Parma, from Puratos Italia national competition to discover the best chocolatiers under 35

(Sixth Power) – Parma, 17 June 2024. The national “Belcolade Award” competition starts from Parma, from the Food Valley. which aims to enhance the best young talents in the chocolate making field. This is proposed by Puratos Italia, a company that is part of the Puratos Group, a multinational based in Brussels, Belgium, which offers a complete range of ingredients, solutions and innovative services for the baking, pastry and chocolate industry.

The focus, of course, is on food of the gods: the competitors who accept the challenge will have to create a modern chocolate-based cake to participate in the preliminary selections. By September 20th the detailed recipe of the proposed dessert, with related photos, must be uploaded to the website www.belcoladeaward.it and this will allow the jury, which will include nationally known master chocolatiers, to express an initial judgment and select sixteen semi-finalists.

The latter, on 15 and 16 October, will meet in Parma, at the Puratos Innovation Center, to present their creations to the judges who will be asked to evaluate four main parameters: taste, aesthetics, structure, technique.

The best eight will pass the round and will be admitted to the final which will take place on 22 January 2025 in Rimini during SIGEP, the international trade fair for the Foodservice sector.

“For us it is an extraordinary opportunity for mutual growth. The centenary experience of the Puratos Group in the production of chocolate, which is marketed under the Belcolade brand, is made available to young pastry chefs and chocolatiers whose skill and creativity are constantly growing and this also allows us to understand, in the field, how to create virtuous synergies. And speaking of prestigious collaborations, I would like to add that this year the competition was organized with the help of AMPI, the Academy of Italian Master Pastry Chefs,” he underlined Valentina Bianchimarketing manager of Puratos Italia on the occasion of the launch of the Belcolade Award competition.

Finally, it is worth underlining the absolute originality of the first prize which will go to the best of the competitors and that is a trip to one of the countries where the cocoa used in Belcolade chocolates originates. A unique opportunity to learn, right from cultivation, the various stages of cocoa processing and see first-hand the positive results obtained through the Cacao Trace program created with the aim of guaranteeing the long-term production of sustainable cocoa through constant collaboration with the plantation farmers.

All the details on the competition can be found on the website www.belcoladeaward.it
