**From Kosovo to Crotone Arbëria: a journey to discover one’s historical roots**

Fili Meridiani hosted a group of young professionals from Kosovo. Kosovo, Albanian language and identityis the youngest republic in Europe born in 2008 following the war for independence from Serbia.

This extraordinary event is part of the program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo Citizen Diplomacy Fellowshipwhich involves the best young professionals from Kosovo, including second generations of emigrants living around the world (USA, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Sweden).

For two very intense days, the communities of Pallagorio, Carfizzi and San Nicola dell’Altor they have become the scene of an unprecedented cultural exchange. Participants were able to discover elements of their historical roots, common to the Arbëresh people, and immerse themselves in the rich Arbëreshe tradition, creating deep and lasting bonds. The experiences lived and the stories shared have left an indelible mark, strengthening the bond between the two realities.

The program, rich and varied, offered numerous activities:

– **Arbëresh cuisine**: discovery of the typical cuisine at the Independent Restaurante Bar in Pallagorio with the Dromësat laboratory, the blessed pasta of the arbëresh with Rosina Marra.

– **Wine and street food tastings**: at Tenuta Renda di Carfizzi, where guests appreciated the arbëreshë wines.

– **Views**: in Monte Pizzuta, San Nicola dell’Alto, with a breathtaking view.

– **Cultural visits**: at the Muzé Spazio Arbëria and at the arbëresh gold workshop in Lapietra.

– **Traditional experiences**: the Pupughejo rite, symbol of friendship, celebrated with Mrs. Carmela.

– **Significant meetings**: with Fra Nikolin at the Church of Carmine and visit to the arbëresh bells.

– **Meeting Arbëria and Kosovo**: to explore new collaboration opportunities.

– **Traditional costumes**: guests wore precious arbëresh costumes, fully experiencing the local culture.

Ettore Bonanno, responsible for organization and hospitality for Fili Meridiani, declared: “This meeting was an extraordinary experience that enriched all the participants and strengthens the role of Meridian Threads as an organization capable of cooperating internationally
