Work has been underway in Piazza San Sebastiano, in the hamlet of, for more than twenty days now Coldirodiare at a standstill due to some changes to be made to the project, as already explained to our microphones by the councilor Massimo Donzella.
However, they would have to start again during this weekbut this was not the case and the construction site is still at a standstill with no one to operate.
A situation that has thrown the residents of the area into despair, who feel deprived of the only local meeting point.
“They are causing inconvenience to all traders – says the owner of the butcher’s shop at Angelo’s – This was a road also crossed by cars. For bars and pizzerias it is a problem, also because with these works dirt continually enters the premises. Not to mention the elderly who risk getting hurt. Then let’s not talk about the signs that don’t exist: you can’t put a plant to block the passage, you need signs. At least they reported the works, whoever gets here finds himself in a situation where he can’t even go around.”
However, there are also those who, like the Rewind pizzeriahad to close the place for the works, which close to the start of the season is a big blow to tourism, with events such as the summer carnival which could be blown up, as Mr. Angelo, a resident of the area, also points out: “I left and came back 40 days ago – he adds – and I have never seen anyone working, I hope that things move forward soon, also for safety reasons. One thing that many agree on is that there are city areas in which redevelopment interventions would be much more urgent, even if less invasive: the streets of the center are in a state of decay, with holes that are closed in a good way by those who pass by, but without effective safety measures, and even small ones can be seen grass shrubs which grow in less trafficked areas, emerging from the stone paving with a danger to the elderly. Another problem is then presented by street lamp question: residents say that no maintenance work has been done for five years, so much so that there are those who don’t trust going out at night, not seeing where they would put their feet.
“We also thought about setting up a committee – says Gabriele – in the summer we always have the village festival, then now we have the pizzeria which is closed, as is the bar. We feel abandoned. Just take a lap to see the situation, last year there was a person in front of me on a bicycle who fell due to the potholes.”
And someone has already turned to the administration for answers on the matter, such as the mayoral candidate Roberto Rizzowho asked for clarification via registered mail.
