Today’s edition of “Il Giornale di Sicilia” focuses on Palermo and the decisive week.
Palermo is preparing for an intense and complete summer transfer market, intervening in every department to form a team ready for the training camp in Livigno, scheduled for 7 July. There are only 20 days left until the official start of the new season, and sporting director De Sanctis is already working to close the ongoing negotiations.
Goalkeepers
The starter will be Desplanches, while Pigliacelli will look for a new destination. Palermo will have to find a reliable second goalkeeper, with possible candidates such as Costil, Ochoa or Consigli. The third goalkeeper could be Nespola, promoted from Primavera.
Defence
The defensive department will certainly see the departure of Marconi and probably that of Aurelio and Buttaro. Lucioni could stay, but it’s not certain. To strengthen the central defense, there is talk of Ferrari, former Sassuolo captain, even if the negotiation is complicated. Another interesting name is Cacace dell’Empoli.
Midfield
The main objective is to find a playmaker, with names like Mazzitelli, Viola, Bianco and Caligara in De Sanctis’ sights. Mendes from Ascoli is also under observation.
Attack
Interest is strong in Esposito of Sampdoria, and surveys have been made for Defrel and Mulattieri. Outgoing, Stulac is followed by Sampdoria, Soleri by Spezia and Brescia, while Brunori is requested by Genoa, Lecce and Pisa. Segre could also leave, with Pisa interested in him.
With the training camp imminent, every day could bring important news to the market, with De Sanctis committed to building a competitive team for the new season.
