Alfredo and his wife dragged by the current

According to the information learned at the time when the dramatic events that led to Alfredo’s disappearance occurred, it was around 4pm, the sixty-six year old was spending a few hours on the beach with his partner, a day which instead culminated in tragedy. The couple treated themselves to a refreshing bath, they were both swimming when, suddenly, maybe because of the current, had difficulty getting out. Some swimmers came to their aid and brought Alfredo back to shore. But once on the shore he lost consciousness and never recovered.

Attempts to resuscitate him were of no avail. The health workers, the port master’s office and the local carabinieri were present on site. The hypothesis is that it was struck by a sudden illness, the causes of which are currently unknown. Once the on-site checks were completed, the body was transferred to the morgue, where it is available to the Judicial Authority, which will evaluate whether to proceed with theautopsy. The results of the autopsy tests will help shed light on what happened.
