TRANI – In the early hours of the morning, a phone call to the emergency number 112 from the operators of the Trani Hospital Emergency Room reported the arrival of a young man with numerous stab wounds. The immediate response of the police launched an in-depth investigation, conducted by the Carabinieri under the direction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Trani, which led to the identification of the alleged perpetrators of the violent attack: two friends of the victim.
The dynamics of the aggression
According to the investigative reconstruction, the victim, originally from Trani, had left the house at 4:00 in the morning to meet his friends. However, the meeting turned out to be a trap: the two friends intended to punish the boy for a wrong linked to the management of businesses connected to drug dealing. The situation quickly escalated into a brutal attack. The two young men repeatedly hit the victim with a stick and injured him with a knife, finally leaving him bleeding on the ground before fleeing in a car.
Rescue intervention and investigations
Despite his serious injuries, the victim managed to contact the emergency services and was urgently transported to the Trani emergency room, where he was immediately treated. The subsequent examination of the victim, his family and witnesses, together with the results of the investigations, made it possible to collect useful elements to reconstruct the dynamics and causes of the incident.
Arrests and charges
The two alleged attackers were arrested in execution of a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Trani. The charges against them include attempted murder and carrying weapons or objects capable of offending.
Status of the investigations
It should be noted that the proceeding is in the preliminary investigation phase. The arrests will be followed by the interrogation and the confrontation with the defense of the suspects. Their possible guilt, in relation to the alleged crimes, must be ascertained during the trial, in the cross-examination between the parties.
