Preparation and new line-up for the Marche in Volo national team.
But let’s start with the story: l‘Asd Marche in Volo was born in Grottazzolina in 2016 to support the sports project of some young people from the Marche region, motivated to compete in sports parachuting. In the first years of participation in the Italian championships the first satisfactions arrived for the association, obtaining podium places as third and second place in the “open” category.
The results:
The turning point came in 2019, when the “Marche in Volo – Amnesya” team managed to win the national title for 5 consecutive years and become the team called upon to represent Italy in international competitions, also obtaining an excellent placing (4th place in Europe and 7th place in the world) at the World Cup held in Voss, Norway, last August.
The activity:
In recent years, there have been various initiatives promoted by the association, from supporting the local population with the purchase of protective masks during the Covid pandemic, to meetings with high school students in the Marche and Abruzzo, to promote safety and values of sport, particularly those classified as extreme. Thanks to the support of some local companies, it was possible to expand the movement and promote the values and beauty of this sport, also by organizing and participating in public events, with demonstration launches.
The president Daniele Vallasciani, from Grottese, tells how the Asd Marche is moving in flight for the current season: «Already in 2023 our association has managed to present 4 teams to the Italian championships, in the different categories, with a good amalgamation between young people and experts, with excellent results such as first and third place in the intermediate category, a fourth place in the open category and above all the victory in the top category which allowed us to maintain the title and gives us access to the next world championship which was expected in Israel in September but which, for obvious reasons, was revoked and will be relocated in a few days. During last winter – continues Vallasciani – there were various “market” movements for our athletes, consequently, for the current season, 3 out of 4 teams have had more or less important changes but all have already made a good indoor training in the wind tunnels of Milan and Madrid. For the outdoors we had the first good results in the “Rubik competition” which was held in Fano on May 18th, where all our athletes excelled in their respective categories. From next week – concludes the Grotese president – the actual outdoor training will start, again in the Fano parachuting center and there we will begin to have the first results. The objective always remains to compete for the national title, during the Italian championships which will take place in Arezzo next September. I won’t hide from you that being able to repeat the same result as last year at the next edition would be a wonderful achievement. This is certainly not simple because this year, with the renewal of the line up in the national team “Amnesya” and with the consequent change of roles within the team, a running-in period will certainly be necessary which we will try to recover by intensifying training; on the other hand, however, it gives me great satisfaction to be able to bring a local athlete back to the most important team.”
