Pensioners in aid of the maturity, they are 15% of the commissioners. Oral sledding where there is a run-off – Il Fatto Nisseno

Retired teachers to the rescue of the final exams: 10-15% of the exam commissioners, in fact, will be drawn from among those who, having retired no more than 3 years ago, have applied as commissioners or commission presidents. The numbers come from the National Association of Principals and the Lazio Regional School Office. Meanwhile, the plenary meeting of the commissions is scheduled for tomorrow in view of the state exams which will start on Wednesday 19 June at 8.30 am. The president, after having verified the composition of the commissions and the presence of the commissioners, will communicate the names of the absent members to the regional school office.

During the meeting, the organizational aspects of the activities planned during the exam days will also be identified and defined, in particular, the start date of the interviews for each class and, based on the draw, the order in which the candidates are called. As every year there is the fear of defections among the exam commissioners and in recent days the regional school offices have opened registration for substitute teachers who intend to be part of the exam commissions precisely to deal with the resignations that are expected numerous again this year by tenured professors. Some USRs, such as that of Lazio, have also opened registration for substitutes to pensioners, as required by national legislation. “There have been several applications among retired teachers and almost all of them will be used for replacements, they represent around 10% of the total in our region”, says Paola Sabatini, USR Lazio manager.

The main complaints of the designated commissioners concern the assignment to schools very distant from each other within the same municipality, without recognition of reimbursements for travel, and the salaries which have remained unchanged since 2007, ranging from 1249 euros gross for presidents to 911 euros for the external commissioners, with increases based on the distances to be covered. For internal commissioners the compensation is 399 euros gross. This year’s state exams will involve 526,317 students who will be examined by 14,072 commissions, for a total of 28,038 classes.

The greatest number of candidates comes from high schools, 266,057, followed by those from technical institutes, 172,504; finally there are 87,756 students from professional institutes. We start on Wednesday 19 June at 8.30 am with the first test, the same for everyone, and continue the following day, again at 8.30 am with different tests according to the disciplines characterizing the individual study paths. The interview is scheduled for the following Monday; the commissions will listen to a maximum of 5 candidates per day. For some students, however, the start of the oral exam will be postponed due to the run-offs, as the municipalities in the second round return to the polls on Sunday 23rd and Monday 24th, until 3pm. Compatibly with the counting and subsequent cleaning of the rooms, the The start of the oral exams, in the schools where the polling station is located, will therefore be postponed to Tuesday or Wednesday of the same week.

Among the regional capitals that will go to the ballot are Bari, Campobasso, Potenza, Florence and Perugia. To these are added three provincial capitals, namely CaltanissettaPescara and Bergamo.
