Also present was a delegation from the Compagnia Rosso d’Aquila from L’Aquila who, before the winner was announced, brought a tribute to Braccio as a sign of reconciliation between the two cities, on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of the leader’s death. Lots of participation and great enthusiasm from all the locals and others. As per tradition, after the celebrations and reports in their own district, everyone met at the Carducci Gardens to close the challenge and the evening in friendship.

A colorful note on the final day was the presence of the Italian-Argentine opera singer, Haydée Dabusti, who marched in the Braccio procession alongside the president of the Perugia1416 association Teresa Severini. The artist, who came to Perugia precisely for this occasion, will hold a concert in honor of her in Perugia1416 on Monday 17 June at 6 pm in the Aula Magna of the University for Foreigners of Perugia. She will perform, accompanied on the piano by maestro Stefano Ragni, a series of great Italian arias. After the performance Dabusti will be awarded the title of “Ambassador of Perugia1416 abroad” for the year 2024.

«The idea of identifying an ambassador of Perugia1416 every year was born precisely from Haydée Dabusti, who came specifically from Argentina in recent days asking to be able to show. You have been following the event remotely from Argentina for years and you like it very much. It is an example and a confirmation of the internationalization activity that we carry out and which has also been received with great interest by the magnificent Rector of the University for Foreigners, Valerio De Cesaris, who every year, starting with Haydée, will identify this figure by choosing from among several professionalism. Haydée, in thanks, will offer us this concert on Monday accompanied by maestro Ragni. I hope that many will participate”, explained Teresa Severini.

ROLL OF HONOR The Palio was won three times in previous editions by Porta Santa Susanna (2016, 2017, 2019); once from Porta Sole (2018), from Porta Sant’Angelo (2022) and from Porta Eburnea (2023).
