A pilot of the 118 helicopter rescue service, Giampaolo Abeltino, 57 years old, on duty in Palermo he died while he was in a taxi in via Dante. He had just been discharged from the Turin clinic after being hospitalized for some cardiac checks. He had been checked twice in the cardiology department of the Ingrassia hospital in the past two weeks. The pilot was originally from Sardinia.
